Job Description:

A Technical Project Manager at Dynovas manages Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Projects.  The Technical Project Manager has a foundation in engineering with exposure to or desire to grow into a project leadership role. The Technical Project Manager provides direction and oversight of technical, financial, personnel, and other related aspects of the project.  Specifically, the Principal Investigator’s roles and responsibilities will include:

  1. Working with customer stakeholders to understand their program requirements.

  2. Communicating with customer representative to provide project status and obtain any feedback necessary to meet project objectives

  3. Establishing work plans based on technical requirements and expected outputs

  4. Managing schedules to ensure project tasks are completed on time and on budget

  5. Monitoring project budgets and making key work plan decisions to ensure cost projections agree with funding levels

  6. Leading the Integrated Product Team (IPT) for execution of all tasks

  7. Collaborating with project lead engineers to evaluate and define technical approach/progress

  8. Creating/maintaining all Dynovas standard work for project management (e.g. project kickoff efforts, labor requests, project finance reporting, weekly status updates, action item lists, invoicing projections, program closeout efforts)

  9. Coordinating with Engineering and Operations to schedule and execute the project work plan

  10. Overseeing any collaborative relationships outside the Dynovas organization

  11. Generating all reports and Supplier Data Requirements List (SDRLs) necessary to complete established or contracted milestone

  12. Identifying, pursuing, and acquiring technology transition opportunities

Technical Project Managers will have the opportunity to grow with the organization in either a Project Management role (Project Manager to Program Manager to Principal Investigator to Business Area Lead) or technical leadership role (Principal Engineer to Lead Engineer to Chief Engineer to Subject Matter Expert).

Candidate Qualification Requirements:

  1. 4-year degree in mechanical, structures, materials, or equivalent science/engineering program

  2. 4+ years of experience in aerospace, mechanical, materials, or equivalent engineering

  3. Strong communication skills

  4. Ability to interface well with customer stakeholders

  5. Team leadership and management experience

  6. Desire to solve problems independently and as part of a team

  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
